Upcoming Summer Wedding Trends

shutterstock_143579107The approach of spring signals the start of wedding season. Some wedding traditions are so classic that they’ll never go out of style. Since a wedding represents the start of a new life journey for couples, we think this brand-new adventure should embrace fresh trends – beginning with the wedding. Here at Blossom Weddings, we’re always on the lookout for modern trends to use in the floral designs we create for couples who come to us in search of flowers for the most important day of their lives.

We hope that some of the ideas we’ve come up with to incorporate the 2015 trends into different styles of bridal décor will inspire couples and help them come up with ideas for ceremony, reception, and bridal party floral arrangements for their summer wedding.

Look to Nature for Inspiration

One of the hottest new trends for 2015 is the use of natural elements in floral décor. We’ve taken that concept and created a unique but edgy arrangement that is the perfect accent for the cocktail hour. We call it Peony in Limes. We took a simple clear bubble glass and filled the bottom with sliced limes. We added pale pink peonies that are just starting to open. The result is a real show stopper that’s simple, but elegant.

Incorporate Vintage Elements

Couples are drawing inspiration from vintage fashion and trends. Even if a bride doesn’t wear grandma’s wedding dress or veil, or have any special family heirlooms to use as “something old,” there are still ways to embrace vintage styles or ideas. One super trendy and very beautiful way to take an old-fashioned idea and turn it into something modern, fun, and whimsical is by choosing a nosegay style of bridal bouquet.

A nosegay is just a tight round, mounded cluster of flowers. If you’ve ever heard of a tussie-mussie, then you know what a nosegay is. You can choose any color or type of flower you want. The beauty of this type of bridal bouquet is its versatility. It works with any wedding theme, and it’s suited to any location.

Bling is another important new trend for 2015. You can add bling to your floral décor in many ways. For bridal bouquets, corsages or boutonnieres, add jeweled accents or crystals. For the reception décor, use crystals and hang them from eco-inspired branches to create a truly elegant, and regal setting.
